CACHE Level 3 in NVQ Health and Social Care

 

 

Who is the qualification aimed at?

The qualification offers two pathways for the care of either ‘Adults’ or ‘Children and Young People’. It is designed for workers delivering care and support often without direct supervision or for those working on their own in health and social care settings.

 

What are the entry requirements?

Learners must be at least 16 years of age and have sufficient literacy and numeracy skills, for example a GCSE grade C or equivalent. In Wales those wishing to take the adult pathway must be at least 19 years of age.

 

What does the qualification cover?

Practical, work-related tasks to demonstrate competence at Level 3 based on the National Occupational Standards for Health and Social Care.

 

What age range is covered?

Children and adults depending on the pathway taken.

 

How is it Assessed?

Direct observation within the workplace combined with a portfolio of additional evidence such as, professional discussions and witness testimonies.

 

Are practical placements required?

Learners must either be working or volunteering in a residential day or domiciliary care setting or is a registered foster carer for the whole period of the qualification

 

What related qualifications can learners progress to?

• Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care or other Level 4 Care qualifications.

• Foundation Degree.
