Today the Riverside Training team will be showcasing our business' services at the Peterborough Biscuit event.
The largest business to business event in the city and, according to its organiser, set to be the biggest of its type outside London is being hosted by the East of England Arena and Events Centre.
Peterborough Biscuit is now in its second year and is the perfect platform to turn the spotlight on the excellent business community operating within a 40 mile radius of the city.
It's open to all businesses, large and small, including B2B, B2C, charity and not-for-profit.
It's purpose is to showcase local business, promote new business, raise awareness of products and services and celebrate this diversity by increasing their local visibility.
According to the official website, Peterborough Biscuit has three main aims:
- To get as many different types of business from Peterborough in one place for one day so they can showcase their high standards and diversity
- To raise awareness and promote local business products and services
- To improve local business knowledge by providing seminars from local Peterborough Business Champions who are leading, growing and innovating
The event is the perfect opportunity for us to build our business knowledge, broaden our business connections and get to know the wider business community.
It's exactly the sort of event anyone who owns, or works within, a business in the Peterborough area and beyond should be attending.
Not only can you promote your products or services, you can see what else is being offered locally, build your business skill sets and gain valuable insight from industry professionals.
The inaugural Peterborough Biscuit was the brainchild of Managing Director of Peterborough health and safety management firm Sphere RHSM and his wife Sharon.
It proved to be the biggest business showcase the area had seen in 10 years, with more than 120 exhibitors and almost 800 visitors.
The couple brought together what they had learnt from networking sessions and attending business events in the past and putting this knowledge to good use to set up the Peterborough Biscuit.
This year the number of exhibitors has almost doubled to nearly 230 and between 3,000 and 5,000 visitors are expected to attend.
The event will feature a number of informative seminars from local business experts, plus entertainment throughout the day - including cookery demonstrations - as well as networking opportunities...and, of course, free biscuits.
Local boy made good, Joseph Valente, who won BBC television's The Apprentice in 2015 will be giving the keynote speech and there will be a diverse range of seminars during the day from getting the most out of networking to how to recruit to grow your business and how marketing and brand are crucial to small businesses.
