So, at last, we have now settled into our lovely new home in Spalding's Broadgate House, Westlode Street, and I can share with you more about the move and the reasons behind it.
Actually transferring from our old building to our new premises took a total of two weeks - far longer than I had anticipated.
I must say a huge thank you to my fantastic administration team who helped pack up everything from all three floors of our old building and ensured it got to the right place!
Fortunately, our day-to-day business wasn't disrupted despite the lengthy time it took to move.
Now I'm delighted to say we are all together on one floor - which is much better for the team dynamic and contributes to meeting our Disability Confident scheme objectives.
I'm delighted to say that the move was essential to accommodate the increase in business we are experiencing at Riverside Training. This can be contributed, in part, to the company featuring in this year's high-profile Parliamentary Review as an example of best practice in our sector and our student Sam Hurst winning the Apprentice of the Year 2018 title in the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers' (ICB) Luca Awards.
Thanks to Victor Gidney, who delivers all our ICB qualifications and is highly experienced and recognised for his in-depth knowledge of accountancy, our accountancy and bookkeeping apprenticeships are flourishing. We've also recently recruited a new tutor to develop our Norfolk provision.
And after Easter, Riverside Training launched a new traineeship programme along with the Cache Level 4 Advanced Practitioner in Schools and Colleges, the new apprenticeship standards for the Early Years Educator and Advanced Apprenticeship for Payroll.
Our new home is able to accommodate our physical grow and we are making good use of the suite of offices. We have created a lovely, much larger training room for our students as well as a second smaller training room, additional administration space and a dedicated space for our contracts and reception staff.
It's also much easier for students, staff and visitors, to find a parking spot nearby for access to the offices.
Aside from the protracted transfer time - moving has been, without doubt, the right decision and we look forward to welcoming everyone to our new home.
