Who is this qualification suitable for?
The qualification is suitable for a range of young learners in school or in college.
What are the entry requirements?
Learners must be at least 14 years old to complete this qualification.
There is no workplace experience needed as this is a knowledge only qualification.
How is the qualification structured?
To gain this qualification, learners must achieve a minimum of a pass grade in each of the 3 mandatory units. Unit AHSC 1 - K/508/3734: Introduction to working in health and social care
Unit AHSC 2 - M/508/3735: Human growth and development through the life stages
Unit AHSC 3 - T/508/3736: Undertaking a health and social care project
How is it assessed?
Unit AHSC 1 - K/508/3734: Externally set and externally assessed multiple choice question test graded refer, pass, merit, distinction.
Unit AHSC 2 - M/508/3735: Externally set, internally assessed and graded refer, pass, merit, distinction.
Unit AHSC 3 - T/508/3736: Externally set, internally assessed synoptic project graded refer, pass, merit, distinction (choice of project titles to be provided on cachezone).
Units AHSC 2 and AHSC 3 will also be subject to external quality assurance. The Award is graded refer, pass, merit, distinction.
How long does it take to complete?
This qualification can usually be completed in two years or less.
Learners will be able to progress to the next level of learning in health and social care, for example, the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England.
